CAMP KUNTALINI
Come to the forest and let yourself be slowly consumed by the moss! Wish upon a star! Tend to the fire! Get dirty!
Explore the healing of animism and the teachings of Kundalini Yoga in the woods of the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula during an astrologically potent time. We’ll get close to the earth: sleep in tents, bathe in the cold waters of Georgian Bay, eat from the land, cook over fires, silent walk with the trees, story-tell on 400 million year old rocks. We’ll get close to the cosmos: breathe into the subtle body, move the physical body, expand the auric body, chant under the starry sky, meditate. We’ll connect to these animal bodies: eat well and commune well.
This offering combines yogic philosophy, gestalt experiment, ecopsychology, animistic play, and creative recovery for an emergent experience not yet known. We make it together within boundary and framework.
Set in part of the Niagara Escarpment World Biosphere Reserve on the 45th parallel - halfway between the North Pole and the Equator - it's a charged place to be as we mark Lion’s Gate in Lion’s Head on 8/8 in an 8 year. Inspired by the stars, all that we do will be centred around intuitive knowing, visioning, and deep listening. The gift of 888 is in it’s ability to make manifest.
Krista Schilter (she/her) - a Gestaltist, horticultural therapist, writer, and creator of GOLDEN CHAIN - will guide us through playful experiments to reconnect with our wild selves as an ecology - as beings that are identified through our relationship with other beings. We’ll use body-based practices from the Kundalini and Katonah yoga lineages, group process inspired by Gestalt psychotherapy, free writes and nature-based-connection to filter our insights through the natural world.
Certified Holistic Nutritionist, Yogi, and Multidisciplinary Artist Madelyne Beckles (she/her) will teach us and nourish us with food as subject rather than object. We’ll eat local foods lovingly made granola-chic over the fire or packed for picnic and hiking.
